This "Loy Krathong" set were taken with my brand new Canon SX200IS. Though it's a good camera, the night shots turned out not as good as I hoped. Reccon that I need some time to get used to and be able to fully master it to shoot at my whim.
"Loy Krathong" is a famous festival in Thailand. It is held on the full moon night of the 12th month (Thai lunar calendar) every year. We make our krathongs from various materials. Such as banana trunk, baked bread, styrofoam, and decorate them with tree leaves and flowers. Then put a wax canddle and incense sticks in each krathong. After krathongs are finished and ready to float, Thai people will go to a pond or river which is near to their houses, light the candles, ask a wish to the Lord Buddha and other divine ones, and float these krathongs out. Thus we call it "Loy (to float) Krathong".
Make sure you hold on to your camera, I already had 2 stolen here in Thailand, and now I've only got a very cheap camera. Good shots, like all your photos
